Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Split-Side (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms form a contract between you and Split-Side, Inc.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use Split-Side. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@split-side.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Points and wagers

Split-Side awards virtual points solely for entertainment purposes. Points have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash or prizes, and are not transferable. By participating in “Who will win?” polls you agree that:

• Wagered points are deducted immediately on vote submission.
• Winners receive points equal to their wager multiplied by the event weight factor.
• Results are set by admins after the event concludes. Errors can be corrected; corrected results are final.
• We reserve the right to adjust or reset balances to correct errors or prevent abuse.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Post content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or discriminatory.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service.
• Attempt to circumvent security measures, gain unauthorised access, or interfere with other users.
• Post spam or unsolicited commercial messages in chat.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules at our discretion, without prior notice.

6. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you submit (chat messages, display name, avatar). By posting, you grant Split-Side a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and transmit that content to other users as part of operating the Service. We do not sell your content.

7. Our content and intellectual property

All other content on Split-Side — including the platform design, logo, code, and event data — is owned by Split-Side, Inc. or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without our written permission.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of sports data, or that live streams will always be available. We are not responsible for the content of third-party livestreams.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Split-Side, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users in the UK or EU, mandatory local consumer protection laws also apply and are not affected by this clause.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
